Going away to college is a great experience that many will enjoy before entering the job market. Those graduating from high school and living away from home for the first time will experience independence, and for the first time realize that everything is on their shoulders. They will have to juggle class time, study time, recreation time, personal time, social time and rest time without someone reminding them of their daily responsibilities.

Going away to college builds maturity, responsibility, organizational skills, independence and more. Not only is going away to college great in terms of teaching responsibility, it’s also very nurturing in the sense that it provides a  person with self confidence, self fulfillment, self growth and self accomplishment. Just as weightlifting builds the body to become stronger and more powerful, college trains the brain to become stronger and more powerful.

College changes many lives for the better personally and financially. Even though at first it is financially draining, afterwards a person will find that having a college degree can be financially rewarding. The U.S. Census Bureau's 2000 earning statistics shows that having a college degree versus a high school diploma drastically increases a person’s salary earning potential. Not only do people with a college degree earn more money over the course of a lifetime, they also tend to get the better jobs, i.e., the non-dead-end jobs or the jobs that require more brain work than body work (white collar jobs versus blue collar jobs).

Here you will find a large assortment of colleges and universities throughout the nation. Many listed also offers distance learning degrees for those who wish to earn their college degree but are unable to attend school fulltime or are unable to go to a physical campus due to family obligations.
