Description: Stephens College began offering traditional
courses in 1833. Its School of Graduate and Continuing
Education offers programs designed to address the content
and logistics needs of nontraditional students. The staff is
attuned to the complications of maintaining jobs, handling
family responsibilities, and completing degrees, because
many teachers have been nontraditional students themselves.
With a curriculum that emphasizes concerns of
women and ethnic minorities, the program also strives to
promote and enhance personal and professional development,
personal empowerment, and leadership skills.
